This warm weather has me worried about the up-and-coming tornado season. A Co-worker of mine just moved here and wants to buy a house in a less tornado prone area. Does anyone know of a website that show all the archive and past tornado paths? I once noted the Harvest area gets more than their share of F4 and F5 tornadoes.

Tornado History Project: Maps and Statistics

Here you go. While this is not the definitive end-all database, it is pretty good.

While tornados can strike pretty much anywhere, there are areas that, over time, seem to see greater frequency and severity. For example, I wouldn't live anywhere between Birmingham and Florence without a bombproof storm shelter or basement.

What's striking in this website is how a few miles can make a huge amount of difference. For example, Jefferson County, particularly the northern half, sees lots of tornados -- including the F4s and F5s. Meanwhile, Shelby County, with the exception of two F4s over the years, has not suffered nearly the quantity nor severity that Jefferson County has.

The Huntsville NWS site has a good tornado database too. Search around a bit: https://www.weather.gov/hun/

Do the HOA documents forbid tornadoes there? The 1989 F4 was hopping up and down mountains and awfully close to present day Hampton Cove.

Historic sections of Decatur.
Southeast Decatur. Pretty much all of Decatur, except right on the river and the southern edges and parts that used to be Flint.
