A low level circulating center (LLCC) has persisted East of Panama.

According to NOAA

"Disturbance 1: 40% Chance of Cyclone Formation in 5 Days
As of 2:00 am EDT Mon Oct 23 2017 ...
A broad area of low pressure is expected to form over the
southwestern Caribbean Sea during the next few days. Slow
development of this system is possible thereafter while it moves
northwestward to northward.
* Formation chance through 48 hours...low...near 0 percent.
* Formation chance through 5 days...medium...40 percent"

If this does form into a cyclone it almost certainly will hit the US mainland.

Unfortunately the NOAA doesn't issue a new address with each update so the graphic you see below may not reflect the area that I am seeing.

The application I use to see this LLCC is called WindyTY. It is an app you can get for your phone at GooglePlay

I would try to keep any future systems in the "2017 hurricane season general thread" until they're officially named. Keeps more order to the board, especially during busier times.

Ya, October typical storm paths are generally northward overall movement so if something develops it would indeed favor a track the US should at least be monitoring.
