Today is the day KIDK partners with KSL and the Children's Medical Network.

I was surprised to see KIFI Meterologist, Michael Coates and his family tell their story so far.....

Perhaps for me personally, I needed to see that interview. It has zero to do for me that Michael Coates and his wife work in media. I am very familiar with children who have the same or similar diagnosis (es). I couldn't reach my dropped Smartphone from last night until after I had seen the Coates family.

I do think many tend to forget those who are in media, and perhaps make our lives better with their optimistic shows, have personal challenges too. I remember Steve Cannon sharing his family's story last year. A parent's job doesn't mean they are immune to life's challenges.

Not even a full day is devoted to the effort in E. Idaho. I think they started at 6 or 7:00 a.m. It ends at 4:00 p.m. today. I remember the days it started on Friday night and was held for two days. That could pose some challenges caring for the kids

Impressive to me that as other media markets have dropped out of the PCMC network, the Idaho Falls-Pocatello market has remained and is their only non-KSL broadcast.

Last update, over $130 K, had been raised. More is always needed. Nice work KIDK and Volunteers

MSR - - who has had a family member at PCMC for multiple admissions, and I am a former employee of PCMC.

Default > $260 k

Lots of news this week about other things. Kuddos to KIDK for raising a record- breaking > $260!

It will be interesting to see what happens after EIRMC builds the Pediatric Tower, including a larger Pediatric ICU, and recruits more peds sub-specialists locally. They won't qualify to be a part of the Children's Miracle Network like PCMC. Donations to PCMC could go either way.

PCMC is responsible for 10% of the Continental U.S. as the designated full service Pediatric Hospital. I remember be on-call one night and calculating if major traumas basically from the Canadian border to Flagstaff and Sacramento to Denver and all points in between happened, I'd be paged. It's different now with Vegas, Boise, Provo, Idaho Falls and Billings able to provide some services, depending on what is wrong the child will be cared for at.the appropriate facility.

Nice work from the volunteers and Media of KIDK in 9 hrs. !

MSR, we did a cookie fundraiser in the store and donated 100 percent of the proceeds to Childrens Primary. They invited my wife Lauren and I down for a tour. Amazing hospital with amazing volunteers. This was our first year participating in the cookie fundraiser. All the SLC chick fil a's have been doing it for at least a couple years. East Idaho blew the socks off of the competition and finished second to the store in sandy, ut. I believe we sold nearly 2000 cookies and then my wife and I matched that. We were able to cut a check of 4 grand to the hospital. It was awesome to see the community come out and support such a terrific event. I will post next year when we have the event again. I believe cleosmom bought a cookie tray from us that day as well! Awesome living in such a supportive town.
