Bless the hearts of those involved with this and those who adopt. These dogs have so much love to give and can make so many people happy by being their best friends for life. Great to read of this!

BOISE -- Idaho is helping out animals from another state.

Seventy-seven small breed dogs arrived at the Idaho Humane Society via airplane from Southern California Monday afternooon, giving them hope for a new life in the Gem State.

Many of these dogs are rescued right before they are scheduled to be euthanized.

Their trip started out at the Jackson Jet Center where it took a pilot two hours to fly them from Los Angeles to Boise.
A friend of mine got a California rescue dog a couple of years ago while visiting her sister in Portland. The Portland Humane Society took a load of about 80 dogs from California.

The little guy had a lot of trust and bonding issues at first, but my friend is a patient woman and has owned dogs for a long time. Eventually, he worked out very well and is now highly socialized and a really nice and well-behaved companion.
He still decides for himself who he wants as a buddy or not. It took most of a year before he decided I was OK.

I visited them both last Sunday and brought my pup. They played outside most of the time, but when he came back in the house, he looked me up, jumped on my lap, and told me he was glad to see me again.

These dogs often require a lot of work and even more patience, but with the right person for them, they can and do flourish.

'Miracle' man survives I-84 pileup in Meridian | KTVB.COM Boise

MERIDIAN, Idaho -- A Meridian man says it's a miracle he survived one of the worst interstate pileups in Idaho history. More than 40 vehicles were involved in the January 9 incident, including a fully-loaded logging truck.

Crash victim Jose Silva's Subaru Forester was mangled beyond recognition after it was struck from behind by the logging truck. What's more, crash reconstruction experts say the small SUV was pinned underneath the truck and dragged down the freeway.

Folks, we're not going down this route. And with regard to the "freedom of speech" issue....let me give y'all a quick reminder.

In the first amendment, the language is a prohibition on Congressional action. The First Amendment applies only when Congress passes a law abridging speech. Suppressions of speech are not violations of the First Amendment unless the State does the suppressing. The State could be either the Federal government or another governmental entity. Many mistakenly thank that any suppression of speech, including suppression by private citizens, violates the First Amendment. Such a private action might be objectionable for ethical or social reasons, but it does not present a constitutional issue.

This is a privately owned forum, and you are given posting privileges to enter and post at the CDF site owner's discretion. As such, you have agreed to our terms of service and to be moderated ( or even *gasp* "censored") as we see fit. While you may take serious umbrage with the "as we see fit" part, you're rather out of luck in that regard as we're doing our best, and you can always go take your keen insights, witty reparte, industry insider knowledge ("I know a guy that knows THE GUY..."), and pearls of snarky wisdom elsewhere if you find our efforts to keep civil discourse so egregiously offensive to you. Personally I think we can get along if we remain calm, remain on topic (and post in the right areas), take a deep breath before posting, maybe even count to 10, and move on.

Brewery boom: How it's affecting Idaho's economy | KTVB.COM Boise

Brewery boom: How it's affecting Idaho's economy

BOISE -- A growing industry in Idaho is bringing in nearly $200 million and thousands of jobs each year.

You may have noticed more breweries around Boise. It's a trend that even city leaders are watching and are hoping will attract more tourists to the Gem State.

In the NID neck of the woods they are popping up, as well as adjacent Spokane area.

I thought this was an interesting article about the Coldwater Creek bankruptcy and the implications for the Bonner county economy.
