I think goats are pretty cool and would be fun to have. But I know my wife (OK, and me)...we would let them be house pets. Probably not a good idea, on many counts.

Can't imagine trying to housebreak one. we have a goat cart and harness. Goat driving didn't go all that well either. We decided to stick with driving horses and vehicles.

Housebreaking, teaching them not to eat the furniture (with the emphasis on FUR), keep off the counter. Not to mention those sharp hooves poking you when they take over the bed. As far as driving, I'll stick with bikes and vehicles....as I mentioned before I only have to feed them when I ride them. Though I can't get my wife to let me make a house pet out of the Triumph-would look great in the living room all winter. The trials of married life.

Similar experience. I am no expert but I got a Stihl FS130R trimmer. $400. Also got the steel blade adapter kit. Another $30 or 40. Tried a couple different steel blades and found a great one. It is called a 2 tooth bent tip munching blade. This blade attached to my Stihl trimmer blows through 3/4 inch thick blackberry stalks like nothing. I also agree with the helmet and face shield. Had a lot of overgrown brush at Sandpoint house and blew through that in short order. Good luck.

Been cutting dead lower tree branches with a pole saw and now have a huge pile of branches. It keeps getting bigger and will grow even faster when my brush cutter comes in.

Is a big chipper the way to go? I don't really want to do any burning and possibly start a forest fire.

We have a Wallenstein chipper. It takes up to (I think) a six inch diameter limb and has a hydraulic feed. It's nice not to have to burn.

We have almost 40 acres of woods. And used to have a fencing company. My husband is planning on selling a lot of it. We just don't need it anymore.
