I've been with Mercury Insurance since my second year of driving, way back in 1973. Every few years, so and so wants to give me a quote saying that they can beat the price I currently pay. It has never happened. Mercury has always been the least expensive for me. However, it appears that Mercury does not underwrite auto policies in Northern Idaho. Who does?

I have been with Geico since before I can remember. I check ever couple of years with other companies and no one has been able to beat Geico for us yet.

I too have GEICO. We had Wawanesa in SoCal (they are the best auto insurer we've ever had), but they don't insure in Idaho. So I went with Liberty Mutual and they were OK, but switched to GEICO and they were way better on pricing, and in some claims they have been super to us.

I have Allstate now and had GEICO before that for about 15 years. I switched to Allstate four years ago, becuase my GEICO Policy Price was going up with no accidents or tickets. I have seen on line advertisments for Allstate up in NID.

I have Geico here, and also had them in California. The insurance was a lot less here in Idaho, which was a very pleasant surprise.

Before you buy, be sure to examine all your insurance needs (cars, house, umbrella, etc). When you get them all, you can get a package rate. Also, you cannot get the umbrella unless you have multiple with one carrier). Finally, do not forget to check out the payout reputation of each. We have All State.
