Hi all my family and I are looking to move to Idaho my company has a location in Meridian, ID that I am looking to transfer too, we currently live in Southern California. We would like a fresh start somewhere that has seasons, My wife and I are in our early 30's and have 3 children from 17, 5, 2. My family is from Montana so we traveled through Idaho numerous amount of times and loved it there and decided we are going to head on that way. Now we are doing more research on areas to purchase a home in or around Meridian. Any advice on where to look for younger families I would like a larger size property not huge just around 1acre or so. Thanks in advance.

Hopefully, SoCal didn't taint you too bad while you were there. If so, please leave that taint (and any illegal aliens you picked up along the way) before crossing the state line. Thank You!

No I haven't been tainted so far. . . If anything we are getting out of here before my children are, I want to live somewhere my family can enjoy life and slow down and de-stress.

Disciple 1975..
I've read several posts from you now and I'm trying to understand whats got you so pissed off about people from Southern California. So, what is it? Prop values rising too much? Liberal politics? Better educated? You seem a very unfriendly person and hopefully not representative of the community there.

I think I am VERY representative of the community here and am also very friendly. Liberalism, illegal immigration, Hollywood attitudes, loss of morality and decency, entitlement mentality...I could go on and on. California (primarily SoCal) is the blueprint for the demise of our great nation and even though I think we have already fallen too far as a nation to be saved, I do not want this still great part of the country to decay any faster than it already is. However, there have been some great people who have come here from CA to escape the madness and are adamant about not bringing that filth here with them. Those are the ones who seem to fit in just fine here. Maybe the others would fit in more in Boise but would probably do best in CO these days.

Better educated? At least you have a sense of humor.

Interesting and questionable first post, by the way.

While that would be funny and ironic if it were true, I'm sorry to disappoint you VandalsLOL. I have NEVER lived in California. Thanks for playing!

In my experience, that is why many Californians (and not just Southern) are crossing the State line (asterisks mine)

I've heard quite a few new-ish Idahoans from California express their desire to stand strong with Idaho, and help hold back the "taint".
