I tried, it died. It was about 2-3 years old tree that I planted and she didn't make it the first winter

What a loss! I'm sorry. I talked to a master gardener today, she told me the soil here may be too acidic, even if the zone is ok. We discussed ways to alter the pH of the soil, but it may be that I will have to grow indoors. Heartbreaking if true...

Any other suggestions for a similar looking tree?
