The May day protesters are pushing for a completely open border between Central America, Mexico, the USA and Canada. While there would be separate countries like in Europe, there would be open movement of labor and no immigration controls.

I see this as a real possiblity soon. Anyone in support?

Well, though I do not support the prospect of combining the Americas into a EU type conglomerate, I can certainly support the U S dropping some "daisy cutters" on the free-loaders and taking over a few more "states"...though, that would probably not solve the problem. And even a few MOADs (thank you, Utah!) might help, what would the U S do with ANOTHER welfare state? Hmmm.

Unchecked meaning " Out of control " as opposed to names on a list... And not just Illegals, but our gov't who is not listening to it's people....

Too right. They aren't listening, and there are so many of us that live on the border and deal with the issues "up close and personal". I've posted to similar issues in "immigration"...too much to say...

I oppose this North American Union idea of Bush's. I understand why he wants to do it. He's a big business president, and he wants to do what's necessary to keep America's corporations competitive in the world markets. The cheaper the labor, the more profit a corporations turns, and the more taxes businesses will pay into our treasury. In other words cheap labor increases GDP. But the North American Union will also flood the United States with extremely cheap labor that will cut real wages in the United States and will undercut our entire middle-class. The middle-class here has enough problems making ends meet without having to compete with tens of millions of Mexicans who are willing to work for a lot less money and a lot less in the way of benefits.

NAFTA was the first step. The superhighway being built in Texas is the second step. Soon a social security totalization agreement with Mexico will go into effect. All this is being done right under the nose of the American people and almost nobody realizes it. Bush feels he can push us into the North American Union without the advise or consent of Congress. He feels he can do it all without the advice and consent of the Senate under the authority of NAFTA. We are entering a very dangerous time in our history where a great deal of our very sovereignty as a nation is at risk and most Americans have no idea what is happening right under their noses.

Republicans play that sovereignty card so often when they discuss national defense. Hypocrites!!! At least with Democrats, they're upfront about selling us out. The Republicans are being so much more devious. And to think, I used to vote Republican.
