As Jessica Colotl sat in a classroom taking a final exam at Kennesaw State University Tuesday, federal immigration officials sent word she can remain in the country for another year. Enlarge photo



Colotl, an illegal immigrant brought to this country as a child, was nearly deported to Mexico last spring following an arrest for a traffic (http://g.ajc.com/r/GT/ - broken link) violation on campus, but the federal government granted her a yearlong deferment so she could complete a degree in political science.

Colotl was 11 when her parents brought her here. Over the past year, the 22-year-old has been in and out of courtrooms and spent 37 days in a detention center.

Now doesn't your heart just bleed for this poor illegal alien?????

AND, she was paying in-state tuition, whereas other illegal aliens going to the same school were charged out of state tuition.....

There is absolutely no reason she cannot go back home and finish her college courses there.

Oh - but the USA taxpayers wouldn't be paying her way if she returned home.
