Escondido checkpoint results, one year later - KSWB (http://www.fox5sandiego.com/news/kswb-alabama-escondido-immigration-060911,0,1984731.story?track=rss - broken link)
Wow, I would say the percentage of criminal illegal aliens is surprising, but not really. So why are people against the secure communities program, checkpoints, e-verify, etc? and why is the pro-illegal alien crowd always crying that illegal aliens are just a bunch of hard working, law abiding (besides identity theft, coming here illegally, working under the table, etc) people? I found the percentage of criminal illegal aliens nabbed very disturbing. Any thoughts on this?

They are misunderstood and a repressed social class which is suffering at the hands of the xenophobes. If only they had a fast track to citizenship, then we could see they are only here to contribute to our country!

Lol.. Right on. Kind of like the IRCA of 1986? talk about history repeating itself. I wonder when we will reward all of these future citizens again?
But But these are the people obama panders to.....

According to statistics released by the Escondido Police Department, 477 undocumented foreign nationals have been taken into custody by ICE officers working with the Escondido Police Department. Of those 65 have drug priors, 44 had assault priors, 11 had sexual assault priors, 126 had drunk driving priors, 37 had theft priors, and 16 had gang priors. 19 of the 477 have been arrested in Escondido multiple times since the program started in May of 2010.
Most of the gang criminal types and also other criminal types are young males who came here because their families are residing here illegally. Keeping their families and tossing them back where they have no family or support system other than their gangs is only making things worse.
Splitting these families by allowing the parents to come here illegally and leave their young children behind because they can't afford to raise them here without food stamps is not helping the situation. They leave their children to grow up without parents, often the kids end up being raised on the streets and gangs. Massive illegal immigrations is producing huge problems with children growing up with no job prospects and no family support. Of course they too will come illegally over the border to find long lost parents but they also have no preparation to live and succeed in this country.

I would say they are suffering mostly at the hands of businesses willing to pay them scraps for otherwise good paying jobs. Accepting such low pay has displaced people in many, once well paying professions. You might say the illegals have it better here than back home, but they are negatively effecting honest American workers in the process, and that's what angers me. How is the economy ever going to bounce back if everyone is making $8 an hour or unemployed? How can these people support any kind of economy whatsoever?
And having a fast track won't solve anything, they will still work for $8 an hour. What they are going to receive is not the American dream, it's a substandard American living, and that's all anyone is going to be able to afford before long, American or otherwise.
