why is it that we have to educate illegals kids. education is a right that is afforded to us citizens. where is it that we have to spend in some cases over 10k a year to educate the kids of people here illegally that pay no taxes?

I agree. We need to make a federal law against and amend the 14th amendment.

Not only that but children of illegals, even those children who are here illegally with their parents get a "free" education provided for by American taxpayers.

Supreme Court of United States has ruled that undocumented aliens have right to education So unless Congress changes the law which I doubt they will change the law

Education is not a "right" afforded by/to anyone or any SCOTUS ruling (US Constitution). Plyler v. Doe is clear in that regards: Public education is not a "right" granted to individuals by the Constitution. San Antonio Independent School Dist. v. Rodriguez, 411 U.S. 1, 35 (1973). But neither is it merely some governmental "benefit" indistinguishable from other forms of social welfare legislation......In addition to the pivotal role of education in sustaining our political and cultural heritage, denial of education to some isolated group of children poses an affront to one of the goals [p222] of the Equal Protection Clause: the abolition of governmental barriers presenting unreasonable obstacles to advancement on the basis of individual merit. Paradoxically, by depriving the children of any disfavored group of an education, we foreclose the means by which that group might raise the level of esteem in which it is held by the majority.
And after 5th grade there is no bilingual education. These kids are put into English only classes with additonal ESL education to help bring them up to speed to speak English. Some have a hard time and have picked up the street slang and use that in school. This limited English also shows itself in the NCLB test scores as kids must be tested on their grade level, not their actual skill level.

So many people would attend to agree with you AND WELCOME TO THE REAL WORLD.
Wonder if those in our Government could even answer this question, or want to.
I taught for almost 30 years; have been retired for 9 1/2 now.
Every child we registered had to show up with a BIRTH CERTIFICATE to prove age for any grade, as well as a SCHOOL RECORD from the prior school (if beyond kindergarten) -- or know where to have our school get one.
While it wasn't intentional to prove citizenship -- it really was to prove age -- it did show where the kid was born. Granted, it didn't show where the parents came from, but at least we knew if the kid was born here. Add the school records, you had a pretty good idea of where the family was from. At the time, Buffalo NY didn't have many immigrants; over the years, it has become a city where many immigrants have settled, legal and not. I wonder what they do for those kids? Obviously, they don't have US birth certs and who knows what education they have had.
I imagine now that what we did for years would be called illegal...

It's a stupid argument those on the pro-illegal side have. First they insist we need to import millions of unskilled, uneducated illegals to do the low paying jobs that Americans are too educated to do -- that in spite of millions of Americans being unemployed, Americans are too educated to have to do the jobs we need to have illegals coming in to do.
Then they insist that we must pay billions of dollars to educate the illegals. We don't really need cheap illegal uneducated labor after all, we need to get them educated so they can do the jobs the unemployed Americans would want to do.

"They" didn't insist on anything and it's not even an argument. The US has deemed that all children are required to receive a primary education.
