This would be a great approach. No one -- but no one -- is going to feel at all sorry for these greedy individuals who refuse to hire Americans but get rich fast bringing in countless illegals to work dirt cheap.

Thanks for posting this. It's funny how Utah finally woke up about its illegal immigration problem. I remember about four years ago when I started noticing that illegal immigrants were going there a lot. I always found it to be an odd place to be deemed a sanctuary place, somewhat like Oregon and Washington. I also notice that going after employers has become more popular lately, I'm sure they've been listening to the people - online and offline.

Yes, punishing the employers is a big step in the right direction. I think all of us anti's agree on that contrary to the claims by the defenders of illegals that say we don't.

If the idea is to bring people to the surface of society — like Sutherland supports — the last thing you want to do is to be punitive and pass police power to business."
The fact that any state must pass a law to punish illegal employers, only underscores the deliberate lack of enforcement of our existing federal laws. Watch Obama sic his lapdog Holder on Utah.
It's quite telling that it's deemed "usurping federal authority" only when states try to enforce federal law. Yet, sanctuary cities and states that brazenly refuse to obey federal law, and even enact laws to accommodate illegals (in direct contravention of federal law), are somehow NOT.
