Long Island family says mistaken deportation of girl, now 6, to Guatemala caused her PTSD (illegally, crimes)

A 6-year-old U.S. citizen — sent to Guatemala in a de facto deportation two years ago — is suffering from post-traumatic stress disorder, or PTSD, after the ordeal, a new lawsuit alleges.
Emily Ruiz' father, Leonel Ruiz, is suing U.S. Customs and Border Protection on her behalf over "significant psychological harm."....The agent who finally called Leonel Ruiz learned he was here illegally and gave the dad a terrible choice: Emily could be held at a juvenile facility for "adoption" or returned to Guatemala, according to court papers. At one point, an agent told Emily herself that she was being put up for adoption, the suit alleges. Emily’s father chose to send her to Guatemala.

Her parents were the ones to harm her. The parents came here illegally by choice.

Yep; no consideration like many other things on now it could effect others.Stated with parents illegal act just like kids who parents go to jial for other crimes.

Really? Seriously? Leonel Ruiz just needs to shut up and take it like a man about being caught since he's a crook by just being in the US. Sheesh!

Weird -- it seems the family had sent her to Guatemala themselves before she was sent there again by the ICE agents. They should ONLY have returned this girl to her family if they were back home in Guatemala. What lowlives they are teaching her that it's okay to break the laws.

You can tell they're just out for easy lawsuit money.
