I assume it's every state capital and medium-sized metro area in the country by now, not just our most populous cities. For CA it's the entire state. I'm certainly interested in what will happen if Trump wins and withholds funds unless these locales begin complying with federal immigration law and cooperating with ICE. It will be interested to see if my state's leaders loudly and boldly choose foreign nationals over their own citizens when push comes to shove.

But that's not the entirety of what a sanctuary city means. It means that they don't really cooperate or coordinate with ICE at all. My metro area now has the highest number of illegal aliens per capita of any metro area in the US.
Gee, if we didn't have all those illegal aliens reporting crime for sanctuary cities what would we do?
Illegal aliens are the best crime fighting tool a sheriff could ask for .
Not when they are owns who break Immigration Laws and cause the organized crime for example LA. We need to look at what is good for America. All of these points are steeling jobs from US Citizens. Liberals have cheapen American Citizenship with no standards.
Then we run into why should we enforce any Immigration laws. The answer is right on front of us .
It's interesting to note that while San Francisco flaunts itself as a shining progressive sanctuary city( even to the point of idiocy and self destruction) it has not taken in in ONE Syrian refugee to date. Could it be because it's Nancy Pelosi's home district?

Def time to change the law and; allow cops to arrest ANY known illegal alien, NO bail, and then deportation with a 10 year ban back into the US. Word will get out we ain't playing and, MOST illegals will leave.
How to stop illegals without expensive walls or mass deportation:
- Deny them any and all non-free social benefits/services (deny them healthcare unless they can pay on the spot, absolutely no welfare, no use of shelters, Section 8 housing, no education assistance, etc)
- Eliminate jus soli for future babies (giving a year's advance notice so that anyone considering going the anchor baby route will quit while they're ahead and not bother)
- Anyone here illegally will be permanently ineligible to apply for residence or citizenship.
- Make eVerify mandatory for all employers
- Fine employers as a significant fraction of their yearly revenue, worth, or a minimum baseline amount (whichever is highest) for each illegal they're caught with.

Yes to all of these. Also, make English the official national language. Allow law enforcement to ask immigration status if someone is stopped for something else (speeding, DUI, etc.).
