Can someone explain this mindset regarding illegals? (born, laws, Mexicans)

I've been watching the anti Trump protests since the election and I've seen a few people on camera saying (often SHRIEKING) things like : "I have family and friends who are undocumented and it's just not fair".
What isn't fair?
That we are planing to enforce our laws?
How do they even DEFEND a position like that? By calling someone a racist or they hate Mexicans if they disagree?

They do it because these people only see the impact to themselves. They don't see or care about the people who have lost their livelihoods to illegals lowballing wages. They will make excuses all day, but never take into consideration that millions of Americans were forced out of their livelihood because they couldn't compete against illegals who don't pay taxes.
I predict that employers will be required to use E Verify. Nobody will be going door to door, rounding up illegals. But unable to find work, illegals will simply self-deport. If you can't find work, you're not gonna hang around.

Because it is a bit unfair to not enforce the laws for up to 20 or more years and then be faced with the threat of being deported while your kids are here and US citizens. That should be easy to understand but of course we also should have the right to enforce our laws.
Isn’t that the same reaction many people get when they get used to something and then the rules change (or are suddenly enforced)? Lots of “it’s not fair” and a misplaced feeling of entitlement.

I don't see it as being unfair to them, regardless. What would be unfair to our own citizens is to allow them to remain here and retain American jobs and resources. The fact that they have U.S. born kids is irrelevant to their own law breaking. Do American law breakers get a pass on our laws because they have kids?

I think we can all agree that if someone broke into YOUR HOUSE, without your permission, ate YOUR FOOD, enjoyed the benefits, you would seek to PROSECUTE them, even though they had innocent children.
Well, what do you call someone who violates the nation's laws to GAIN / PROFIT and consume resources, benefits, etc, etc, a people who share no common language with us, have a foreign allegiance, are dishonest and no respect for our laws or our property. . . GOOD NEIGHBORS?

They came in illegally. They had to know there was a possibility that this might happen.
It's like a burglar going into a house. They had to know there's a chance they might get caught.

No its a bit unfair to break the law for 20 years....... Its a bit unfair to break the law for 20 years then expect a free pass. It is simply unrealistic to think you can break laws indefinitely.
