Here in Arizona you do not see many of the Hispanics who many people assume are illegal aliens standing around looking for day labor opportunities since new laws were passed and enforcement has increased. The media tells us that we are seeing many Hispanics leaving the State and many are going deeper into the shadows. I wonder if the average undocumented (illegal immigrant) person is really living his or her life in the shadows. Or are they just as visible in your hometown as ever?

I too live here in the Phx area and illegals are becoming 'thin on the ground' as of late-------which, of course as a beautiful thing
Many Americans/green card holders of 'Hispanic' lineage are smiling as well

Well, in Northern VA i can speak for two areas, Alexandria and Prince William County. Alexandria: Our mentally deficient city council has made our city a sanctuary city. The illegals are out here in full swing and taking our city government to the bank in welfare and ESL public schools. One section of the city (Arlandria) probably has 70% of folks who can't speak decent english. And more illegals from Prince William Cty are coming here and doing whatever (keep reading to see why)
Prince William County: Illegals are leaving Prince William County quick. Once the legislation cracking down on illegals came into effect it was hard to find day laborers, latino businesses are losing customers rapidly, most illegals are doing their business in Alexandria, Arlington, and Maryland, and trying not to be caught on the streets of Prince William County. So i guess they've gone into hiding in Prince William.
They frequent Goodwill. Wal-Mart is another hangout. They move quite freely here. Not much to be done with them either. Our mayor/council is more concerned about buried power lines and beautiful fountains.
