I suggest we fix the problem. Now. And that means legalization for many. Should not have happened. We screwed up. But now we need to fix it.
The law is enforceable. It hasn't been enforced very well in decades, but that doesn't mean it can't be enforced.

Where there is a will there is a way, the problem is that under the last president there was no will and no desire to enforce.

Hopeless...The funding for the law is barely enough to hold the population in check and that is with a substantial return of recent Mexican illegals due to the better conditions in Mexico.

And it would require a vast increase in funding to impact the illegal population in our time. Increase the budged of the immigration authorities by a factor of five and you might get the illegal population to go down 10% a year for a while. But you barely have support to maintain funding at the existing levels anymore large increases. And there is no support of substance for any tightening of employment laws or ID requirements. In fact the right generally opposes all attempts to do a national ID card.

Been the same under all regimes since and including Reagan. And in fact the most aggressive pursuer of the illegal aliens was Obama. He actually reduced the population.

A record number of people were "deported" from the U.S. during President Obama's tenure as president, due in large part to a change in definition.

Read your cite again. This time for content...

******************************
WHAT'S TRUE
Statistically, more people were deported from the U.S. during the administration of President Barack Obama than during that of any other president.
WHAT'S FALSE
That statistic was due in large part to a change in how "deportations" are defined rather than to an increase in the number of persons deported.
*******************************

The change in reporting was made by Bush not Obama. And the statement remains true.

And other anti illegal numbers well up as well.

How quick these liberals forget that it was also Obama who bypassed congress by EO and gave the DACAs and the DAPAs a stay of deportation along with work permits which numbered in the millions! "Deporter in Chief" my lilly white behind.

Unfortunately they will keep believing whatever they want to believe.

All in all it does not matter who is correct or wrong, what matters is that we rid our country of the illegal invaders..

And as long as you maintain the absurd fiction that you can deport the existing illegals you block any real solution. At this point they are not invaders. But part of the residential population. And they will stay. And there is nothing you can do about it.

Not only will a judge in the 9th circuit tell Trump that they can't be removed but with the 'chain migration' policy, they will be able to also bring in their sisters, brothers, uncles, aunts, cousins
