Yes, the Democrats are looking for future voters because once these illegal aliens gain our citizenship .....
They are already affecting elections. the census is used to allocate house seats and the EC votes that go along with them. The illegal population is included in the count. One estimate has California with 5 extra House seats/EC votes, TX 2, NY 1, FL 1 and WA 1. Based on legal population they would be reallocated to these states:
Iowa, Indiana, Louisiana, Michigan, Missouri, Montana, North Carolina, Ohio, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania.
If you live in one of those states you have been robbed of a House seat and EC vote by the illegal population in those other 5 states. Everyone of those states on that the list that has been robbed went for Trump last election, based on a legal population his margin of victory increases by 14.
There is an article here that outlines a possible but unlikely scenario where the illegal population could of given Hillary the win.
Politicians like Trump are to blame because he is a sanctuary employer himself. The migrants enter the US to get jobs from people like Trump.

You know darn well that if they show up at the border demanding asylum, they have to be allowed in, then given court dates and ankle bracelets.
So what you're saying is that the wall is ineffective, even in an urban setting, and it's pointless unless we fix our broken immigration process. I agree. We should stop wasting money on ineffective solutions.

You know darn well that the walls have been proven to be effective. It has been posted many, many times that the wall Bill Clinton had built on the San Diego/Tijuana border has drastically cut down on crime and illegal crossings.
You also know darn well that when so-called asylum seekers show up at a BP manned crossing and present themselves as asylum seekers, that they have to be allowed in, given a court date and an ankle bracelet.
You are aware (aren't you?) that there are those who sneak into this country where there currently aren't walls/barriers because they know they aren't eligible for asylum. Or they are coming here to do harm (drug mules, child traffickers, OTMs looking to do harm to others).
The only thing you said that is correct (sort of) is that our asylum laws need to be changed.
