I keep hearing over and over about these illegals saving or borrowing 10’s of thousands of dollars to make their way here. Some are able to pay over and over again when they reach bottlenecks in their routes. Then I hear about cartels holding these migrants for ransom when owed, so that family either here or their home countries will pay 10’s of thousands of dollars to free them. My question; where the hell is all this money coming from?

Their home countries are described as destitute crap holes. The illegals here make up to $15/hr at best, but while paying the high costs of living here we all know about AND they apparently send remittances back home regularly. As Americans, many of us can certainly attest to not having $20,000 laying around to get outta dodge if life here went sideways. This scenario leads me to a probable explanation.

A lot of our new illegal friends put their money together the crooked way. I’m guessing the drug trades occurring in many of the countries their coming from. Maybe there’s a test they can do on these fine folks hands when coming across the border for traces of heroine, cocaine or meth. Something that can detect a certain level that indicates repeated handling. Or do some intelligence down there to find out who is doing what in these places. We do it in the Middle East. They can’t scratch their aszsess there without us knowing about it, if we so desired. It’s all a chess game now.

I highly doubt that someone coming here to wash dishes, work in a meat plant, or wash the sides of people's homes is involved in the drug trade.

Subsidizing their low wages?

Want to make a bet. I could easily see it. Your comment is actually condescending. The price tag for coming here is steep and the intrinsic value to the undereducated is immensely inflated. Ever been to a casino? Lots of dishwashers and meat plant workers present. Or are they to pathetic and orphan like to engage in such prolific sophisticated behavior?

The first joint I ever puffed, came from the dishwasher at the restaurant I worked at as a teenie boper. Some of you posters are either ignorant or disingenuous, either way the integrity of the pro illegal movement is going the way of the “cigarettes for lung health” movement.
