WASHINGTON – The Biden administration on Wednesday will begin allowing asylum-seekers whose claims were denied or dismissed under a Trump administration policy that forced migrants to wait in Mexico for their court hearing another chance to seek humanitarian protection, the Department of Homeland Security announced Tuesday.

Asylum-seekers who were subject to the Migrant Protection Protocols, or “Remain in Mexico” policy, and had their cases dismissed or denied for failing to appear in court will be allowed to register to pursue asylum claims.

“As part of our continued effort to restore safe, orderly, and humane processing at the Southwest Border, DHS will expand the pool of MPP-enrolled individuals who are eligible for processing into the United States,” the department said in a statement

The pro-illegals will be along to say that this isn't an illegal immigration issue but IMO since most of them are making bogus asylum claims it is. It should be illegal to lie to get into our country.

Sounds like the Biden admin is actually following the law. Everyone who presents themselves at the border and requests asylum is entitled to have their claim processed in a good faith manner. As you know, most requests are denied.

“Following the law” huh?

Let’s say DHS cuts them loose in the US and their court date in 2024.

They decide to not show up for court date in 2024 because they know they have no proof for their case.

Now they are subject for removal by ICE in 2024 because for failure to appear.

But now they started a family, have American-born children, and established a life in the US.

Now what? Let me guess “but but it’s inhumane to deport them now. Sanctuary state now!Abolish ICE”

Am I right?

So basically anyone with a pulse can submit a asylum case and be given free transportation to have their case heard in America. Are they not aware there are billions who want to escape poverty who will want to come to America. To think we can trust the honor system is foolish.

That's pretty much the scenario. That's why Trump's "wait in Mexico" policy made much more sense.

Escaping poverty isn't even a viable asylum claim but in truth most of those seeking asylum at our southern border are coming here just for that reason. We have plenty of our own citizens living in poverty we can't take care of the whole world's poor also and we certainly shouldn't allow them into our country.

Will they be allowed to "wait in the U.S." for their case to be heard this time?

So that when they don't show up for their hearings, they'll have already gotten what they want: U.S. residency, however illegal it is?

How many of them are you volunteering to put up in your own house, for the year or so it will take for their turn to come for an asylum hearing?

And are you ready to pay the $10,000 bond to guarantee they will show up for the hearing? You'll lose it if they don't show up in court, you know.

Or you would if the U.S. were doing this right.

How many?

These asylum cases can take 3 or 4 years to reach a decision. Biden is putting them up in hotels while Americans cant afford to pay their rents.
