Latino lawmakers and advocates are taking a new approach to the push for changes in U.S. immigration policy, making a humanitarian appeal to Americans to support fellow citizens who have relatives living in fear of detention and deportation. First up: community meetings at churches in 17 cities, with the first set for Friday in Providence, R.I.
Community meetings here Community meetings planned as part of the National Family Unity Campaign include March 21 in Chicago and in Joliet. Specific details will be announced later.

“We are going to focus on families and put this in a biblical, moral perspective,” said Rep. Luis Gutierrez (D-Ill.), who created the model for the campaign with meetings in Chicago and New York.
Rep. Nydia Velazquez, of New York, chairwoman of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus, said Tuesday that the National Family Unity Campaign is a “first step on putting a human face on how the broken immigration system is impacting the men and women of America.”

Oh it's affecting the men and women of America alright. It's sucking us dry.

Our immigration system is NOT broken, but the laws sure have been every chance illegal aliens get to break them. Not only is Luis ignoring the terms of his oath of office, he is also breaking the law by aiding and abetting them. It's long past time for this whiner to be kicked out of office.

Now they have to make up names to hide behind --- National Family Unity Campaign doesn't really bring to mind 'amnesty for illegals' does it? But of course that is exactly what it is about. Or more specifically, Latino illegals.

This guy brings up a good point. Of course the answer is that the US should not have borders at all .... at least for those coming in from the south.
I have rescued illegals when they were drowning and rescued the bodies on the highways,” he said. “When (the immigration reform advocates) go to the churches, why don’t they go see what’s happening on the border and then go to Latin America and see what’s happening to the towns there? No one is talking about the way illegal immigration is breaking families apart to start with.”

Agreed. The whiner that is blaming illegal immigration for breaking their families apart should be speaking in spanish to those who are to blame: the illegals.

After all they are the ones deliberately and methodically getting pregnant to anchor themselves to America and on many occasions leaving their mexican children, husbands, wives and other family members behind by running across the borders to drop their loads in the name of partaking of tax payer funded freebies and anchoring themselves to this country. They have no one to blame for the separation of their familia but themselves and their greed.

If they don't care what their deliberate pimping and abuse of their own children is doing to them or those they leave behind why should we?
