The City Commission today is poised to approve an agreement with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, allowing the construction of the border fence between Brownsville and Matamoros.

It's not going to work they will just make a large ladder end of story.
So everyone breaking in then will have to have access to a "large" ladder huh? Are there a lot of such large ladders SOB? The idea of a fence is to slow down the number of illegals breaking in not stop every one of them. The fence will definitely stop stampedes of illegals or any illegal that wants to casually saunter over the border. The fewer the number of illegals breaking in the easier it is for the Border Patrol to apprehend every one of them.
It isn't like people randomly decide to walk across the border. They hire professional coyotes hundreds and sometimes thousands of dollars to guide them across. If we build fences they are just going to build intricate tunnel systems to go under them, use ladders to go over the fence, break small openings along the fence or move down to an area that doesn't have a fence. Many will come through Canada or along the East and West coast oceans if they have to.
Any fence building is a huge waste of taxpayer money if you ask me.

I think they should put alligators on the fence too, so we can go buy cheap shoes and bags SOB.
Are any of you aware that there are illegal immigrants who are in the country legally, but stay longer than they should?
And do you really think a wall is going to stop people being devoured by poverty and a ****ty government? Read about the Zimbabwe/Botswana wall, kthnx.

Visa over-stayers? I think I may have mentioned them a few times.

Mexico is one of the top 5 wealthiest 3rd world countries. There is wealth, education, medical care and social benefits though not to the extent in 1st world countries. In addition, Mexico has one of the highest obesity rates in the world.
If Mexico would clean up the corruption, tell its people not to breed so many children whom they can't provide for and encourage more of them to value education there could be lots of improvement.
Compared to Zimbabwe and Botswana? There's vastly smaller percentage of people starving to death in Mexico when compared Zimbabwe and Botswana.
And what I've read on other sites, a Mexican company got the contract to build it. You don't think they might build in weak spots do you?? Or escape panels??
