Yet, Mexico threatens to boycott Arizona. Talk about hypocrisy!

Quote:
Washington/Mexico City - Amnesty International issued a scathing report Wednesday documenting the Mexican government's failure to protect Central American migrants passing through Mexico bound for the United States.

"Illegal migrants' lack of legal status means that effective recourse to the justice system is denied them," the report found. "This puts irregular migrants at heightened risk of abuse. Excluded from mainstream society and effectively denied the protection of the law, Mexico's irregular migrants are condemned to a life on the margins, vulnerable to exploitation by criminal gangs."

All the Mexican Govt can see is remittances drying up in their already faltering economy. It has nothing to do with anything else.

Absolutely. There's no doubt in my mind that the Mexican Government is doing everything it can right now to see Arizona's new initiative fail, both overtly and through other mean.

Great article, by the way!

Exactly! Mexico is only worried about those remittances and the flow of more of their citizens into our country illegally would be impeded by more enforcement of our immigration laws. They are also worried about what they would do if millions of their citizens start returning home. Gosh, they may have to care for them for once. Oh, the horror.

Unfortunately for Mexico: their fears may be valid. One reaps what they sow.
