Yup, and now they don't...

Go Rockies?

I'm not that much of a Cubs fan to begin with (sorry, born on the wrong side of town) but don't begrudge them a bit of success ... which they obviously did not get this year.

Anyway, I'm cheering for the Red Sox now. I have to go to New England for the holidays, I don't want to have to hear about it if they lose.

Likely they will talk about it a lot more if they win.

Yeah, but at least they'll be happy, and not complaining.

I'm a longtime Sox fan, but I have Cub fan friends and relatives and once again they're sad. However, I think the expectations were too high for this year's team. This is not like the nightmare in 03, when they were five outs from a World Series. This year's team shouldn't even have made the playoffs, except for the fact that they play in the worst division in baseball. Well, it's 100 years and counting. Are the Yankees going to steal Lou away?

I could care less about the teams in the NLCS this year, but Im pullin for the Rockies. Those D-crack fans are the supreme definition of BANDWAGON JUMPERS. Last nights display of garbage throwing really made me despise their fans. Classless. Tasteless. They should be ashamed of themselves. If not for their grotesque actions last night, they should be ashamed of the fact that they STILL had tickets available for last nights game. They should also be ashamed of their bottom-feeder attendance rate and their ugly warehouse-shaped stadium.

Phoenix, like other rapid growth sun belt cities has a sizeable, if not majority population that did not grow up in the area. Many fans still cheer for their old home town teams. Atlanta had a similar problem selling tickets during the playoffs. I agree with you that the reaction of some of the fans on the double play call was way over the top.

But the strange thing is, they whine about having a small fanbase. But thats not the case when they do good! All of a sudden the stadium is filled with 10s of 1000s of new D-crack shirts, shiny new hats, spotless new jersies. When they lose, the fans hang them in the closet until the next time they do good. I understand the influx of relocatees that bring their love of their hometown teams, but they shouldnt get mad when they dont even care about their teams. Ive seen D-crack games with 7K people in attendance! Its pathetic! But as soon as they start doing good, their trashy fans do nothing but rag on other teams, like theyre something special. I guess thats what 6 months of 100 degree weather will do to you. lol Id be crabby too!

Talking Congrats to Denver!

Serves the D-backs right... 22 out of their last 23 games... AMAZING! Next stop: Cleveland!

(I'm just happy AZ ended up being AZero...)

2008... Year of the Cubs! 100 years is long enough!
