Default Cubs, White Sox, or Cardinals?

Are you a Cubs fan, a Cardinals fan, or a White Sox fan? Just curious. Thanks.

Or if you're something else I'd like to hear it.

I'd appreciate only Illinoisans (even past ones) answering please. It just keeps the poll a little more accurate, since I'd like to poll just Illinoisans.

Thank you.

Default Cubs.

Hmmm, well I grew up on the Southwest side of Chicago so you would automatically think I'm a Sox fan when in reality I'm not. Baseball wasn't big in my family, only my grandpa watched, and I believed he was a Cubs fan. So if I had to pick between the three I'll side with the Cubs just because of him. Other than that I could care less who wins or loses. A good majority of the peeps that were in high school with me were Sox fans and they were quite annoying; kept saying "SOUTHSIDE!" I'm like, "****. No one cares but you." : )

I may live in STL now, but grew up (and remain to my dying day) a Cubs fan. This was not easy in central IL, which is about 50/50 Cubs vs. Cardinals, but a lot easier for the 5 years I spent in Chicago, being able to hop a train and sit outside at Murphy's pub behind center field before a weekend game at Wrigley.

I'm not sure if I like either of the other teams at all, but if worse came to worst, I'd probably root for the Cardinals before the White Sox, for the same reasons that nJohn mentions: wearing a Cubs hat to Busch Stadium will only get you laughed at; at Comiskey (or whatever they call it now) it might get you bludgeoned.

I do agree that the Cards vs. Cubs rivalry, while intense and historic, is probably not as violent as some others.

The tired old tales about the Sox, Sox fans, Comiskey, and Bridgeport are just that: tired and old.

As long as we're trotting out stereotypes, let me say that Cub fans' biggest concerns, in order are:

1) Attendance
2) The "celebrity" conductor
3) Bimbos and Himbos, depending on one's orientation
4) Drinking venues after they stumble out of the ballpark

I will say that since the Sox brought home the big prize that some Cub fans are a little more irritable. For them, I invite you to come on down to 35th Street, have a great time with some knowledgable fans, enjoy unobstructed sightlines, and eat some great food. All this, plus you can take a look at the World Series trophy and the place doesn't smell like pee.

GO GO SOX!

The trophy aint in Chicago anymore buddy, so how could we go see it? Besides, no one here attacked the Sox. I didnt hear any stereotypes from anyone. Maybe a joke or two, but they were good natured.

Get off your high horse. Get a life too.;-)

Struck a nerve, did I?

Maybe the current trophy isn't here, but 2005 trophy is definitely still in Chicago.
