Looking for info about McLean County... I posted bond for someone a while back. They're being ridiculously stupid and reckless, and I wondered if it's possible to have the bail revoked... Any ideas?

Thanks!

This is a good question, I'd like to know the answer. I have heard you can, but I don't know how or in what cases, etc.

Call the circuit clerk's office in that county; it's the only way to find out for sure.

No. The only person that can revoke bond is the Judge.

Could someone explain how this bail thing works? How does a bail bondsman make money? Everyone I ask doesn't seem to know either.

It is my understanding if you put up money to post bond, and the person does not show up for the court date you will probably lose your money. If the person is doing things he should not be doing while on bond, then call the Sheriff. The judge is the only one who can set the bond and revoke it.

Illinois does not have bail bondsmen. You only post 10% of your bail, which is called your bond.

Sounds like a pretty crappy friend. If it's true that only a judge can revoke it, I'd hang that right back over her head, too.

When I was arrested my girlfriend posted a cash bond for me. I have gone to all of my court dates and have not been in anymore more trouble. I left my girlfriend and now out of spite she is threatening to have my bond rescended and have me picked up at work. Is that possible??
