Same here! We drove it the weekend before Christmas to get from our place in Fishers to my grandpa's house near Peru. Such a pleasant drive now! Our old hour and 30 minute drive took an hour and 15 minutes. If they can get rid of the rest of the stoplights between 38 and 24 and get the speed limit up to 65 on the whole thing, it will be perfect! We may start taking 31 again on our trips up to Goshen when it's done between Plymouth and South Bend rather than going SR 13/SR 15.

Speaking of that, has anyone heard anything about US 31 becoming an interstate recently? Interstate 67 i think is what they where talking about make it? I haven't heard recently what they were planning on, or what they ever ended up deciding on.

I haven't heard anything about that. That would take a lot more work as there are a lot of county roads and highways that cross 31 between Indy and South Bend without stoplights. I've heard nothing about getting rid of those intersections. Plus I'm pretty sure there are some areas with houses that have driveways along 31, but that may have just been up north around La Paz and Lakeville where it's getting bypassed. Considering Major Moves money was paying for the upgrade in Hamilton County, Kokomo, and South Bend-Plymouth and that money is gone, it'll probably be quite a while before it would become an interstate.
