On the second floor of our Town-house Apartment building, we have a "storage area." The storage area is a former balcony that was eventually converted in to an "attached storage unit" or an enclosed, non-finished balcony with windows. The windows leak water inside when it rains. It is not causing any damage at this time, but my concern is long term damage and mold build up. She claims it is "storage are only" and they do not have to fix it. Is this true? If not, what's the best way to motivate her? Simply using the mold aspect and the amount of money and laws regarding mold clean up? I would rather approach the manner nicely at this time before putting my foot down, but I suspect I will have no choice in the end..

Secondly, I store 2 wooden frames on my deck. Think of it as the wooden frame that would be used under a shipping pallet for say a semi load. They are not hurting or damaging anything but she keeps requesting I move them or dispose of them. I plan to use the wood, one of these days lol, but in the mean time I was storing them outside. To my knowledge, the lease says nothing about what I can and can not store on the deck. Do I really have to move them?

Any legal issues you may have you will have to research and find what legal responsibilities your landlord has regarding upkeep of the home, details of the lease etc. and that information is best acquired from an attorney who specializes in real estate/landlord/tennant laws.
