We have a son who is a senior at Fishers High School. He also attended Hamilton Southeastern as a sophomore, while FHS was being finished. He has received a top notch education in the HSE school system. We have been very pleased. By the way, Fishers High School and Hamilton Southeastern are about 4 miles apart. I can't count the number of times I've made the drive. (We live next to FHS.)
Fishers is a wonderful place to live. Great schools, friendly people, low taxes (compared to Marion County). We can't imagine living anywhere else.

Is it 4 miles? It seems a lot closer! Sorry.

My stepson is also a senior at FHS, and attended HSE as a sophomore. Perhaps they are friends

Default Income Tax in Fishers, Noblesville

My family and I just got back from a week in Fishers, Noblesville and Carmel. We're re-locating from Toronto, Canada in the next couple of months and we wanted to have a closer look at schools and housing. Everything looks great, schools, housing, people. Everyone was really friendly and they reminded us of the people back home in our homeland of Scotland, which we left 3 years ago to come to Canada.

I do have one question that I was hoping someone could give an approximate answer on, as I'm sure the response will vary depending on location etc. What would the average income tax rate be based on a $100,000 (I wish) salary, living in Noblesville or Fishers. In Toronto approximately 26% of salaries is income tax and I wondered if it is lower or higher in Indy. I tried to Google the info, but can't figure out the variables.

Thanks and can't wait to get down there.

The sales tax is going up April 1st to 7%, right? But if you google indiana tax rate, you should find a lot of information:

Do you have to pay the book rental fees K-12, or is it only Junior High/High School?

K-12! We are one of only a few states that still has book rental fees. It's stupid.

I'm not sure if you are wanting to know Total tax (Federal & State) or just State, but Isn't it something like 28%? I think <$75k is around 28% roughly as general way of estimating total tax. Of course the more itemized deductions you have you can reduce that number by quite a bit.
