My girlfriend and i relocated here from philly to be near family. we are having our first child. we have been together 5 years, college educated, mid 30s. she is a therapist, i am aman insurance adjuster. there was a big lag in me getting paid before we came here. i was 1.5 months behind on my rent and we got our first eviction. We are staying in a hotel room for a week. We had a place lined up, and i just got a call that they wont take us because of our credit. it was an individual owner

anyways
here we are now and this is really scarey. she just got a decent job, and i have a decent local job offer. for now, money is not an issue. i need an aparment. i need someone to look beyond my credit and see that we are decent, clean, and responsible people. ideally a place that does not have infestations and is safe
thank you in advance
maybe you know someone who would consider?
maybe you have property?

Good luck. I haven't lived in an apartment in over 15 years, but I recall back then that anyplace decent in Indy required you to have decent credit and renters insurance. Could any of your local family members co-sign for you on a lease?

No, a bad CR likely means higher upfront costs for them. Complexes even the nicer ones take people with bad credit all the time. Those that just walk away from their homes, etc.

I know of someone who was evicted and 6 months later was able to rent another apartment and then was evicted again. All this in the past 18 months here in Indy.

So finding a complex that you can get into will not be difficult.

What part of town do you want to live in. Budget, etc....

Ideally castleton/ fishers
noblesville or carmel as seconds
or even the section consisting of between michigan and allisonville, all north of 46th

$550-650 ideally. i need to make sure i can handle what is thrown at me, with the baby on the way
ideally 2 bedrooms. i will be working crazy hours indefinitely, so we need that stability of not moving

if my family treated each other right over anything, or were genuine/ decent ppl, i would not be asking for help on here. you would never believe our last 2 months since we drove here upon their insisting/ lies.
thank you all

There are several areas on the north side that are decent and fall within your budget. You might want to change that North of 46th to North of 56th though. Apartments.com or another site will have what's currently available and you can narrow down your search based on your own criteria.

You know what. When you are honest upfront you will not waste your time. Check a few places out and tell them your situation. Ask if is worth your time trying to get approved there or not. I bet it wont be as hard as you think.

If all else fails call the jewish federation. They will help if asked and no you do not need to be jewish for them to help you. Glick and glick are one of the biggest apartment owners in town and i bet a lead thru the jewish federation will help alot. Google them and call. I believe you need to ask for julie. Good luck
