need advice on buying a home in carmel near 106th and michigan rd (Zionsville: crime)

Hello, we are buying home in park at Weston place community on 106th street and Michigan road in Carmel. we have three kids between 2 to 5 years of age. Husband working in Zionsville and chose Carmel due to diverse community and better schools. I would like to get your opinion before making final move. Is this nice neighborhood? Any issue or areas to consider before buying? houses seem to sell quickly in this neighborhood.

I live 5 blocks east of the location you described. I have no complaints. I would wait for input of more members who live in that area though. I don't like area of W 86th and Michigan, but it's not a known crime area. Convenient location with a variety of shopping. Overall, a fairly safe area. Quite a haul from Carmel High School, which isn't imminent for you, but high schools tend to be the center of activity of a town. I always have felt that that area feels more like Zionsville than Carmel, despite the schools.

Only red flag - Walmart is trying to build very close to there. Zville just turned them down, but you never know what is going to happen. They've been trying for years. Have you considered Zionsville? They also have good schools and smaller. Carmel schools are huge!
