We came thru from St Louis to Dayton Monday. Coming thru from west to east we got caught in massive traffic jam.
Friday we will be coming thru East to West from Dayton,OHIo back to St Louis. Can anyone tell me if we’re going to encounter the same delays? It will be around lunch time. If so is there an alternative way thru Indianapolis that would be better?
Thanks very much!
Happy Holidays!

Yes, you'll have the same delays. They're rebuilding the north split (where I-70 meets I-65), which is why there's so much traffic on 465 on the south side.

You could try Washington Street, though you'll run into downtown traffic and possibly some construction delays there, too.

Appreciate reply. Is going east to West around noon Friday going to be worse than West to East was on Monday? We need to be home at a certain time. Thanks again.

I'd guess it's going to be about the same.

You could try going north on I-465--it doesn't look like there's much construction going on there.

Looks like you can take US Highway 40 until it's past the traffic jam section. It runs parallel to I-70.

That's Washington Street.
