I honestly feel like crying sometimes to look at the amount of time I spend on the Internet and reflect upon how this time could have been better utilized by opening the front door and enjoying my real life. I tried to quit City-Data back in what I believe was early-2007, even nearly getting banned by posting a farewell thread (which is a big no-no) only to feel physically ill after being gone less than a week from how my mind would continually wonder about what new threads may have been posted that were in need of my attention on the NEPA sub-forum.
I was now just asked to be a co-administrator for another promising forum, and I have accepted the position. Unfortunately my addiction to City-Data will likely continue, which will just mean that I'll have to invest more hours per day online, as I split myself between a forum that I'll be administrating as well as one that I've always wanted to moderate but never was able to due to my poor standing.
As I approach the 10,000 post milestone, I realize just how empty life is starting to become. All I do is work, eat, sleep, and go online it would seem. On my days off I can spend up to six hours per day cruising this forum, Facebook, MySpace, YouTube, AIM, and various other cyber-locales. I am a poster child for Internet addiction.
If I had more time I would answer this question. As it is I have to check my email, write to my blog, buy some stuff off eBay, read the news from Australia, watch some videos...
Yes , I am addicted to the internet . I am not working right now , so the internet is a big solution for me , I spend a lot of times on it , and therefore my knowledge is bigger than before.
I'm not bothered the least by the fact that I don't have a converter box for my rabbit-eared TV and I don't pan to get one when the digital switchover happens, so I guess that means yes!
