I use the wordpress templates on my own personal website. So it's easy to use as if blogging in wordpress, but I can put up adds and personalize the website. I would rather have a regular website any day over a blog on a blog site.

thats what I was thinking, do you use any particular software to actually make/host your site???
I'm trying to teach myself Dreamweaver AND also find a really good host..... any suggestions?
I use blogger 100%. Easy to set up. Easy to put google adsense. Easy to add domain. Gets indexed by google rather quickly. Damn near no limit to how many blogs you can set up.
I make about 100/month from all my blogs but it took me a heck of a long time to get to that point. Lots of failures.
use wordpress, buy your own domain (keep wordpress as the engine) then sign up for google adsense. This is the easiest way to do it. Wordpress lets you use it under a domain you own so people won't realize it is a wordpress blog...
I know that Blogger lets you add Google AdSense, and I'm pretty sure you can sell your own ad space to whomever you want. But if you wanted to make sure you had complete advertising and creative freedom, it would probably be better to just register your own domain name and create your own website. If you don't have the technical knowledge to code it yourself, you can still use Blogger's software or whatever it's called (my mind is blanking) but it would be hosted on your own website.
