On the right top corner of Google, there is a "Settings" link, click on that to change your Search Settings.

On the Search Settings page, under Safe Search Filtering section check the "Do not Filter My Search Results" option to see if it helps. I generally select "Do Not use Google Instant" option as well but that is up to you.

PS. I use dogpile which is an accumulative search engine.

A search engine by its very nature provides filtered and biased results based on a very complicated algorithm. Do a search for SEO (search engine optimization). A SE takes into account many things for what and where it will place a site in it's index. There is a war going on behind the scenes between most webmasters to achieve the top results and get the most traffic form Google and other SE's.

The question becomes are the SE's applying their rules blindly. Most are going to follow that route since it's the foundation of any good SE. When a SE begins manipulating results outside of the blind results they won't be in business for very long.

I'd ask for details, but that would take the thread in a direction that's off-topic for this forum. IMO, it's far more likely to be a security measure, to avoid angering jihadists. Read the article at the link in my earlier post.

BTW, these things the OP is complaining about are not "search results," they're autocompletes. I don't understand why anyone should care at all about what is suggested on the list of autocompletes.

[quote=Cunucu Beach;16076477]Here is what I get when I enter "islam is" into Google:

Keyed it in and got the same 10 drop down results, agree with Bowie.. Why even bother with the drop downs? Could not care in the least what Google recommends/suggests.

I do, I never learned to type properly and make frequent spelling mistakes because I can't see the screen. I hit submit and Google will give me easy link to correct spelling. It's easier than proofreading every query.

Now if they could only come up with right click menu to turn entire paragraph that is all capitals into lower case I'll be set. I'll hit caps lock instead of A sometimes.

I can't believe it took the second page for someone to rightly explain that.
This is not "filtering".
Kudos.
