Of course it's all on paper until you sell....but how much has the value of your 401k and what percentage of the total have you lost since the peak a couple of months ago?

I've lost 5k of a 191k balance in my current company plan (timed the market at the peak) and 5k of a 72k balance in in other 401k (did not time and left it alone)

Down 6% in one week, not sure about since a couple months ago. My 401Ks are managed by Fidelity (their investment management service where they take a % as their fee) as of April this year. I'm not happy with their level of service.

My woefully underfunded retirement account is down 20% from previous highs. Of course, I did not sell and I do not intend to use the money till I retire. I've been meaning to add to it over the past couple years, but didn't feel comfortable at the previous prices.

Thankfully, my ordinary trading account is doing much better for the year.

Down 7% in last week. I sold off my bond holdings to buy more equities this morning (down 2% on those today, yikes). I have a 30 year time horizon so this is uneventful for me.

.....Not looking...what's the point? My asset allocation is where I want it for my countdown to retirement and I'm not changing it because of this.

Well it's down even more (I know, I know...). I've lost about 7% now. :-(

However, I'll continue contributing to all my funds. Dollar Cost Averaging on a biweekly schedule.

My time horizon is much shorter than most of you. 10 years or less and was really hoping to be able to stop working (if I wanted) in 3 years or less.

I went as high as up 7.2% by July but including the drop today, the up is only 1.2%. This meant I lost 6% profit in less than a month's time bulk of it this week.

Down 5.5% I really don't know why I even bothered to look the other day. I knew it would only disappoint me.

I'm down about 5% from the high. I think that's pretty good when the market is down 12% from there.

And now that I've started buying... I'm kinda hoping to see the market go lower
