fidelity let over 200 employees go either by firing them or having them resign for what they consider to be "questionable character " issues .
fidelity has a nice perk at some levels where they give you partial reimbursement towards exercise equipment you purchase or home/work computer's .
it seems loads of employees were caught submitting bills for equipment and then after submitting the reimbursement paperwork returned the items for credit .
it was pretty widely done . fidelity mgmt felt that people who do that are of questionable character in a company that handles 6 trillion in client money
i agree , they seem to be very big on having ethical people employed . there were star fund managers fired for questionable behavior towards women co-workers.
you don't do that in a company run by abby johnson .

How would they know it was returned? Just curious. I submitt receipts for reimbursement for safety equipment at work and after I give them receipt and they reimburse me, how would they know if I returned or not?

they must have audited the rebates they gave employees after catching someone doing that .
all they need to do is ask to have the following month's credit card statement submitted and look for a credit or to have you take a picture of the gear with a daily paper for date documentation . easy peasy to catch.
