Down 3% today, I’m not sure why Nike decided to get into politics, but this decision could very well impact Nike. They are already around 68 PE. I won’t be shorting it, but I think there is a good chance it will underperform the market.
I hope so. I despise their support for him. Whining baby will take home millions based on this.
I don't disagree with his message, just how he used a fun, American sport to make the games now so negative, so unpleasant.....many of us don't even want to watch.
My solution?
Quit showing the pregame, just begin with kickoff and let us be in peace.
I'm Brown, my entire Facebook timeline is full of Nike/ Kap support mostly from other Brown folks. I haven't bought a pair of Nike's since I left high school but purchased a pair yesterday. I love that they are supporting and standing up for Kap and Serena. I'll probably purchase a few more pairs. As for those stating it's only ghetto black folks buying Nike's, that's not true. Some folks correlate any black neighborhood as the ghetto but most of the kids buying $200 Jordans are from middle income families. My income is low 6 figures and many of my Facebook friends are middle income, they support this. Nike is looking at the future, I think it's a good move.
i think its great not sacrificing anything while still being able to draw a tremendous amount of attention to your cause. that would be ideal. however, i do think he sacrificed his football career for it.
i dont watch football so im not really sure what his potential was in the sport but it seems pretty clear that he reduced his potential by doing what he did.

He is working and paid millions to play a game, not protest. Try doing that in any job and see what happens.
Knock that chip off your shoulder - this is the Investing forum - not Politics and Controversies.
Haha good one, ignore every pro-kap post and choose mine to say knock it off. My OP is very much investment related, you can scroll through the posts to see when it became a debate about kap. However, even debating kap still relates to NKE because it gives an indication do more people support NKE or oppose.
