Sir, the goal here was not talk about ways of making money without working for someone - operating a business or investing wisely.

Actually Sean, your observation is exactly what I thought.
Before you mock the purpose of the thread you should realize that legitimate wealth creation can be done with proper ideas and investments.

I don't want to get into some long winded argument with you, so lets just say that your response is fairly indicative of your conception of time.

Good ideas NJ.

I like the thought of going for a "liquidity event" where you:

- Buy an undervalued piece of real estate, make some real (not flipper style window dressing) improvements and then sell it for a profit.

Taking that real estate idea further, I would say buying a piece of property that can be rented out, renting it and putting it on the market with the associated premium. I am sure if the numbers work, investors would be willing to grab it.

Similar thing can be done in business: Creating value and then selling it.

ironically i did card counting for a few years (the problem with that is you need a giant bankroll to begin with)

I did turn a 500 dollar deposit on an online poker into a 6 figure a year income
The games are a lot different now (**** you us govt) so I doubt it would be possible now
