...double my money...

Vegas or Atlantic City is where you should head. Seriously, even if you find some terribly depressed stock of firm that could "come back from the dead" or have another kind of turn around it is highly unusual for that to happen in 6 months time.

Indeed about the gambling. Go to commodities instead. If you had invested this $2K in gold bullion a month ago you would have made 5% already.

In March I made a few investments that have more than doubled. I'd do some homework to find something out of favor...but there has been quite a rise in the market the past few months. Watch out...it is gambling.

I would wait for the market to correct before buying. I would look more at the commodity space.

Yeah. Stay out of stock investing until you don't need suggestions on how to attempt to double your money. That sounds cold but it really is the most decent-hearted advice I can give you.

If it were that easy we'd all be rich.

You MIGHT make 10-20% on Google in 6 months if they have a successful Android phone launch with Verizon and the market continues to rebound.

Was that a serious post? You need to do your own homework. Nothing more expensive than a free lunch.

There are a few stocks that you may be able to double your investment in 6 months. HOWEVER, these stocks are very risky and you could just as easy loose most or all of your investment in 6 months. You aren't investing when you have such high expectations and a short time frame. It's better than going to Vegas, but not by much.

Recommendations for your situation:

CIT
FNM
FRE

I would not invest in any of these companies, but they are highly traded companies that are under $2 per share.

---

If you extend your time frame to 1 year and lower your expecations to 50% return, I would recommend:

LVS
MGM
WYNN
C

I would buy these stocks, but they also have a lot of risk. However, I see their future positive, where as the others I mentioned, I don't have much hope for. I could elaborate on why I recommend the 4 stocks here, but only if you are serious.
