Is anyone on here a wind turbine technician? If you are not sure what that is, they are the ones that work on all the "windmills" going up like crazy around the country. I joined the military 13 yrs ago and left the farm. Go back about 5 yrs ago and these "windmills" are everywhere. It looks like something i would enjoy working on. I definitely have the background associated with working on them. I would just like to talk to people that actually do it. It is a new "career field" but any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

It might be worth your time to look in to Iowa Lakes Community College in Estherville. They have the largest, most developed wind turbine program in the state. Even if you don't have an interest in taking classes there, someone at the college could at least tell you about job prospects in the field, requirements of the job, typical pay, and so on.

I have a question. I am a geography major. Part of my major involves learning how to use ArcGIS(map software). Do you think there might be a job for me as far as wind energy goes?
