We are relocating and have found a few beach cottages in the $1000 range near St. Augustine or Jax

Does any one have any recomendations of any beach cottages / condos / homes?

Here is the kicker we have a cat, so it limits our selection... :/

He is a such a well behaved little man too... I wish more places would let us bring him! It would make this way easier!

We are looking just to rent something for a month (this October) while we find a place to rent.

We want to explore the area a bit before we settle on a location!

We have googled search to no end, hoping someone has stumbled upon a nice place or perhaps has a place they would like to rent out to a luvly couple with a cat!

In my opinion, your problem isn't the cat, it's the price you are willing to pay. If I understand correctly, you are looking for a furnished one month rental for $1000 for the month. Decent short term rentals in St. Augustine go for a minimum of $500 per week plus various add on fees.

We are in the exact same situation minus the cat. I think a lot of people who are making income independent of a metropolitan city, or a brick and mortar job, conclude st. Augustine area or a similar environment is the place to be.
Unless you go to Hawaii or some places on the west coast it is hard to find a better combination on things in than in this area.
However, we are also searching for a place near the beach and we are still looking, and looking.

With ideas from people on this forum we have come pretty close a few times.

Let me know how you are doing, you can even message me if you want to exchange notes, I agree it is not the cat it is the price we are looking for.

That $1000 sounds like its by the week if its on the beach..

St. Augustine Vacation Rentals by Owner, St. Augustine VRBO®, St. Augustine FL Resort, St. Augustine Beach House Rentals (http://www.vrbo.com/vacation-rentals/usa/florida/north-east/st-augustine - broken link)

As for the cat? if its clean and well behaved and spends its life indoors i'd just not mention it to perspective landlords as you wont be there long and its not like the landlord is going to enter your apartment to check out your stuff..

For just a one month stay, why not consider an extended stay hotel? It may not be on the beach, but I think you might find something in your price range and most are pet friendly.

We CAN actually stay in a beach cottage less than it would be an extended stay!

People I appreciate the responses...
Im not looking for loads of people to tell me it's the price!
Don't waste your time or mine posting if you want to tell me that.

I HAVE simply found some beach cottages, and since I like this forum, I figured I would see if anyone knew of or had anything in ADDITION to my selection!

That is all! So if you do not have what I am looking for or can not recommend a place. Save your time and do not reply! lol. thank you.

Absolutely! They more digging the closer you get! My sentiments exactly! We have money to spend more but why should we have to if there are gems out there waiting to be found! I'm not sure what I have for notes lol but drop me a line for sure!
