I'm a couple years out of college but at an age where most of my peers are still in college. I just got a full time job (miracles do happen) and moved to Mandarin.

I don't know Jacksonville at all, but it seems where I'm at is skewed toward middle aged folk.

Where's some places for someone my age to hang out, preferably with college students/young professionals?

Also, what are the best sports bars to watch the game? Want to watch the college finale somewhere solid.

Been up here a week and loneliness is starting to kick in.

To whoever answers this: THANKS!

The SJTC sounds "right up your alley"! In case you don't know what SJTC means........St John's Town Center right off of JT Butler Blvd/Gateway. There is a new Brewery there that seems to be one totally hot place for your age bracket to hang out for sports. Sneakers is another sports bar. The beach areas don't seem to be that active during our winter months, but during the summer.......it's definitely "party time" there!

Yep, mandarin is definitely college-aged.

Closest good spot to you is SJTC. There's usually plenty of college kids around being right next to UNF, and there's a few good restaurants, bars and clubs. Near that is Tinseltown with more nice restaurants and bars.

Young professionals can also be found around the urban core: Downtown and Riverside mostly, though San Marco and Springfield have nice areas to hang out as well.

The beaches would probably be best for you but also the furthest away. Lots of young folks and nightlife.

For the game, I'd suggest Sneakers on Baymeadows. But really it's nothing more than a sports bar, which you can find all over (Hooters, Wild Wing Cafe, BW3, etc)

Why in the world would a young person move to Mandarin of all places? Good golly.

You said it.

Where's some places for someone my age to hang out, preferably with college students/young professionals?

The general Beaches area and the general Downtown area (it's surronding neighborhoods of San Marco www.mysanmarco.com, Riverside & Avondale historic district www.riverside-avondale.com, and Springfield historic district www.myspringfield.org) have a concentration of young professional types.

Also, what are the best sports bars to watch the game? Want to watch the college finale somewhere solid.

Kickbacks in Riverside is pretty awesome, as is Chicago Pizza at The Landing (it has other locations too).

Then there's the all the bars/clubs in the general Downtown area and Beaches too, but there's far too many to list. These (above) are more casual hangout spots/bars/lounges.

You'll quickly find out that most young people enjoy the Beaches or the general Downtown area quite a bit. Live & learn.

Sneakers bar here on 9a / and Baymeadows Road is really crowded during games. I see people parking up in the grass. My son goes there sometimes.
