Does anyone know where to find used Wheelchairs in the Jacksonville Area? I bought a standard wheelchair and I am working on getting an electric transport chair.

I don't know if they would be cheaper than purchasing new from online companies.

There's a place off Baymeadows where they lease wheelchairs. They might lease electric ones. Its located on the back road behind Gold's gym.

If your dad [assuming thats who you want it for] has a medical card they are free.....he can also go thru the VA for a free chair.

Yes, our insurance paid for it, the whole rental, for as long as we needed it.

Thanks. I got him a Powerchair from the Scooter Store. It took a while but now he has a lot of freedom. I bought ramps from Wheelchair Ramps by LiteRamp and another from www.medicalsuppy4u.com (broken link). The literamp has an antiskid surface is more stable in my opinion.

I also bought him a transport wheelchair that weighs 18 lbs.

I have an almost new Titanium Wheelchair, with all the snap off wheels, and an extra set of soft tires if desired. This chair can be seen on Spinlife for $2800.00. I will take $600.00 firm. Its a beautiful chair, and like brand new. Very light for transporting, and if you like you can just snap wheels off and on for transporting. Very light, and nice.

There's a place on 103rd near Timoquana (sp?) that rents wheelchairs. You can try different styles for a day or a week or whatever.

Default Titanium Wheelchair

Read about my Titanium Chair. It is the best you can buy in that style, and at $600.00 I am losing over $2000.00.
