Good morning
For you new folks that will be experiencing your first "winter" here I would like to share a tip.
Even though it is Florida we get chilly and you will find the need to turn on your heat.

lol I though about it this morning because the house was 69 degrees when I got up.
You all know how when you first go from A/C to heat you get that what I call the "its getting cold stinky smell"

Now that it is cool enough to have the windows open to enjoy the breezes it is also a good time to switch the system over so the stinky smell goes out the windows . you can then switch it back but the stinky is now gone

It is also a way to make sure the system is working properly it would stink (no pun intended) to find out when it is 40 degrees that there is an issue.

karla

Another tip:

This is also the time of year when, sadly, you have to consider putting the flip-flops to the side for a couple of months..........I hate that !

Cool Oh, Florida

....I think I'm going to like it here.

Moving the flip flops to 2nd place...that's funny. Never far from reach, eh Riveree?

OK, so I put on the heat this morning. But I kept telling myself it was to test for the upcoming season and to get all the stinkies out as Karla suggested.

However, being a Pollyanna and always looking for the bright side, my daughter was thrilled to don her downy vest and a scarf last night during our excursion to the city for the Art Walk. A tad of overkill I know, but she was happy and said she felt as if she was in her favorite NYC --- except she liked the clean smell of Jacksonville better.

She's been "depressed" because in her mind it's not winter if there's no snow and cold. So, if just putting on her down vest puts a skip in her step, as her mother that makes me happy :-)
