A few years ago Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisburger ran into some potential legal trouble when a woman at a Reno, Nevada hotel/resort accused him of assualting her. This story was being reported by CBS Sports, Fox Sports and numerous other media outlets. However for days and days you would not see a mention of this on ESPN TV, ESPN Radio or the website. Why was that? Maybe to preserve access to the star QB? They only started covering the story after it became a bigger story that they were ignoring the growing scandal. So yes, media cover-ups happen all of the time.
If you believe everything being spoonfed to you by the local media I question
your judgment. Some of the local sports reporters make it sounds like the Jaguars are going to make a playoff run this year. Why is that? To drum up interest and help ratings? Hmmmmm......
