This message is from the creator of the "Leave 'em Laughing Tent," a member of The International Laurel & Hardy Appreciation Society (a/k/a Sons of the Desert). We meet on the second Monday of each month at a branch library just west of Jacksonville Beach. Admission is free, and light snacks and sodas are served at each meeting at no charge. My sole purpose for the "Tent" (group) is to share my love of Laurel & Hardy and their classic comedies.

At our next meeting, the L&H films to be screened will be their silent short subject "Big Business" (1929) and their holiday favorite, the feature "March of the Wooden Soldiers" (1934). All pertinent information is posted below. For more info, please visit the Tent's website at www.leaveemlaughing.com (broken link), or feel free to call me at (904) 246-0312. I hope to see you there!

Meeting date and time: Mon., Dec. 11, 2006, 6:00 to 7:45 p.m.
Meeting place: Jacksonville Public Library's Pablo Creek Branch, 13295 Beach Blvd. (between Kernan and Hodges Blvd.) in Jacksonville; phone (904) 992-7101

Directions from St. Augustine: Drive north on A1A until you reach Beach Blvd. in Jacksonville Beach. (Once you have passed the Butler Blvd. overpass, you will be in Jax Beach; Beach Blvd. is about three miles from the overpass.) Turn left on Beach Blvd. and drive approximately seven miles. (Landmark: You will cross the Intracoastal Waterway bridge, in which case you'll be heading in the right direction). The Pablo Creek library is a large brown building on the right, next to a church.
