Without prying into privacy, a little more info would help because Jax is huge and there are affordable apartments in many areas. Does a work commute matter? Are there specific activities your family enjoys (parks, beach, etc.)? Do you want to be close to shopping so that it's feasible to walk there or is just a short drive?

and what part of Georgia... if you are coming form Atlanta or Ocilla the answer would be different... St Marys and Kingsland are very near Jacksonville and in some ways are already suburbs of Jacksonville, Camden County is in the Jacksonville Combined Metropolitan Statistical Area

my max for rent is$600. i will need to be close to daycare centers and elementary schools, i have a 2 year old and a 3 year old.
i would like to be around areas where i can work and not have to travel 30 minutes to an hour to work.i would also need to be close to grocery stores, dollar stores, places like that. i am from a small town called nashville. also, in the state of florida, do they require me to have a certain number of bedrooms because i have kids? i have searched on apartment guides and mostly everyone says that my monthly income would need to be 3xs the rent. where i am from there are not many jobs here and you have to know somebody to get a good paying job ($10/hour or more). Also, i now receive child care assistance/other government assistance. will i have to have a florida id/drivers licence for 6+ months before being able to apply for those types of things?

also yes my kids love the park and i am not too big on shopping malls, etc. being just a short drive to walmart and around the corner from grocery stores, schools, and smaller stores is fine with me.

$600 is doable in a lot of places in Jacksonville. It is just a matter of searching them out. Stay out of the Northwest Quadrant and you should be safe in most places. There are a lot of suburban neighborhoods around.

You could also look in the Urban Core which is Downtown surrounded by the older neighborhoods in the city. Riverside, Murray Hill, Springfield, St Nicholas.

Dollar Stores are everywhere. You shouldn't find it hard to be close to a Grocery, Winn Dixie, Harveys, Publix. Walmarts are around.

Jacksonville has one of the largest Park systems in the country, finding a small park close to just about anywhere shouldn't be an issue.

hope this helps a little

The most affordable apartments are away from the coast and other water. Westside of jacksonville or Old Arlington are probably best areas for your. I am not sure about government assistance, check websites for state agencies.

There are quite a few call centers in Jacksonville and you maybe able to find something entry levels, check Citibank. If you have work experience in a field look into that field as well

Remember Jacksonville is very spread out, so a car is needed. Public tranportation is not reliable. Do you have any friends or family in Jacksonville?

Moving without a good plan, job lined up will get you to a new place with all the same problems

I have a cousin that lives there and a friend . I have been looking into everything and feels comfortable with everything . my only concern was the child care assistance. I have it now but know it probably will not transfer. Where I am from you have to know someone to get a good job. O am a assistant manager at a fast food restaurant . I wanted to get another job doing something else. Just tired of working in fast food. My last option was trying Brunswick which is still in Ga but it's like an hour from Jacksonville. That way my assistance will transfer... Idk but my
Wish was to move to Jax...idk..we will see.

Check in to St Marys/Kingsland area. As close to Jacksonville as you can get and still be in Ga. St Marys is a sleepy little town with a great historical district. Kingsland is the next city up by the interstate. It isn't the big city but close enough to Jax and Brunswick
