Thinking of moving to the St. Augustine area from OH. I read conflicting comments re: raising kids... lots to do... nothing to do in this area. We have 14 and 9 yo boys. They love football, basketball, soccer, track, skateboarding.
We are constantly taking and picking up our kids from events and love watching them.

Can you help me with what counties to look at and which HSs are most desireable.

Also, what is hurricane weather like in the St. A area. Where do you suggest we look for this data? All comments welcomed...

there are many activities for kids, I can't be more specific than to say that you'll need to seek them out which shouldn't be hard to do once you are here, if you are looking at St Aug try and find a house zoned for Nease HS, it is probably one of the best public HS in the area

My mother-in-law lives in St. Augustine. She gets worse weather than we do up here in Jacksonvilee during hurricane season. More rain/flooding in her area. She lives in the northern part of St. Augustine.

We have an entire Florida subforum dedicated to hurricanes...post away!

If your kids are high school age, and you're looking to use public schools, you could look to the Mandarin area or the Beaches of Jacksonville/Duval county, beyond that, you'd probably want to look at St. John's County or Clay county for high schools.

There are also two brand new High Schools that will open up in St. Johns County next year. One will serve Ponte Vedra and one around Durbin Crossing/Aberdeen/Julington Creek. Bartram Trail and Nease are also good schools.
